Or the S001.

As I've noted, I've got the Sumitomo HTR Z3 on my car, and I'm happy with them thus far (~5,000kms).

What did you pay for the Sumitomo's Rob?

I got five of them in 235/45R17, fitted and balanced, for $900. That's $180 each.

Just so people know, 225 width is the widest that fits in the boot without popping the floor up a bit. :)

My 225/40/18 on 18x8" wheel popped the boot floor up slightly

EDIT: I should add that I didn't really consider this a problem, boot still perfectly useable

What are the major disadvantages going a 45 profile over a 40 profile tyre? I understand that side wall flex can be an issue, but if I went a 45 profile, what are the pro's and con's?

45 profile Pro's:
- taller side wall meaning more ride comfort

45 profile Con's:
- more wall flex in corners
- speedo out
- Handling not quite as sharp

Anything Im missing anything else? What would you do?
Cheers

My speedometer reads 8% high with factory special tires
The 225/45 would make it closer to accurate. Maybe only 5% high.
I see this as an pro, not a con

This is the size i run on an 18" rim. Has pretty much brought the speedo error down to acceptable limits.
Set cruise to dead on 100km/h and you'll comfortably keep up with traffic.

On tyre choice I've just put on my 2nd set of Falken Azenis Pt722 thanks to a pot hole slashing one of the last set.
Heap of grip for me, great in the wet, nice & quiet, and after 25000km odd they were still about 50-60% tread.

I had a look at the Bridgestone site today, I see they've mentioned the RE003 "coming soon"

Just got a set of 4 Hankook V2 Concept 2 H457 running 215 45 18 . A great tyre that so far has mimicked the grip of Falken Azenis that were previously on. The Hankook's win hands down for quietness. In wet weather the Falken's performed well but have yet to test out how the Hankook's go.

I just fitted 225/45-18 KU22 Kuhmos to our Liberty GT, was previously on standard 215/45-17 tyres and rims, Besides being a better tyre than what we had previously I noticed the acceleration had dropped quite a bit, that said, it is a stock 2.0GT 5EAT... Other than that, ride great, fills the guard out nice on Bilsteins and STI Pinks, better ground clearance which is a pro and a con haha

Thanks Brady. Im looking for more guard filling and better road comfort. I have Tein's fitted so the car sits a bit lower than stock. haha. But I dont mind of the car is lifted a bit for added clearance. I need it to be honest. Acceleration dropping, is that in speedo or just something you noticed taking off from the lights?

Speedo according to my phone GPS is nearly exactly spot on now at 100kmph, Taking off from the lights and acceleration in general seems just a little sluggish compared to what it was, after a tune and exhaust I'm guessing I won't notice too much. We used to scrape every day in our driveway, now we don't scrape anywhere but it looks lower due to the full guards, I think I'll need a front lip though haha
