I just upgraded to Continental ContiSportContact 5 tyres a few weeks ago and loving them.

You can see the compare the Conti's and the Goodyears on the following links:

Favourite would be Yokohama AD08R if price wasn't a factor.

Libs tend to feel better with stiff sidewalls, so something like the Potenza S001, RE050A or Direzza DZ102 are all tyres that have superb turn in and all weather grip.

I have these tyres on my car at the moment and have had them on for the best part of 35,000km. Very good gripping tyre in both wet and dry. Just ensure to check tyre pressures often in case of slow leaks and keep servicing regular.

Want stiff sidewalls
Hankook Ventus V12,
Stiffest tyre I've come across for a while, much better than the 050A's for under $200 a corner

That's a decent price. Was that including fitting?

That was another brand I was considering too Rob but didn't know much about the brand.

I have the Z3's on the wife's RX. OK tyre but not great, very good value for money.
I had the ZII's on my Commodore and HTR200's on the Mazda before that.

In every case, the Sumitomo's gripped well when new but grip levels dropped away as they began to age. They seem to suffer from heat cycling more than the other Japenese brands I've used before.
I was always impressed with what Toyo and Yokohama offered, and the Hankook RS2's I had on the RX were very good.

The KU36s go off quickly (the rubber gets really hard and they start to lose grip, particularly in the wet), and get REALLY noisy as they age.
