Gen 4 Liberty Suspension in Outback

Hi All

My Outback's stock suspension is getting a bit old and creaky. Thinking I can save some $$$ by picking up a low km set of Lib suspension. I've read suspension is fairly interchangeable between gen 4 models but wondering if I need to swap strut tops or anything like that out? Or will they bolt straight in?

Not worried about going low (although a small drop will be nice). If anyone is selling good condition stock Liberty suspension please feel free to flick me a PM

Straight swap, no problems. Just the bump stops on the rear are bigger on the outback.

I ended up finding Liberty GTB (Bilsteins). Very comfortable, very compliant. Its almost perfect! I'm running with front and rear adjustable whiteline swaybars and the ride is comfortable and forgiving.

Looks good, you don't miss the extra ground clearance you sacrificed?

I'm very happy with the ground clearance. Haven't scraped on any driveways, speed humps or parking spot spaces. The front bumper has less overhang (and higher shape) than the Lib so I don't see scraping being an issue. I used to take the Outback offroad to head out kayaking, I still think I'll be able to manage the dirt/gravel roads, just won't be going down any rocky paths etc.

Its nice being able to go around corners and roundabouts with a bit of speed now

Yeah the departure and approach angles look greater than the liberty. It does look quite good side by side.

Are you going to do the sway bar and brace?

It's tempting me to consider doing that since mine is really a family chariot.

Already have front and rear whiteline adjustable swaybars. Set on medium setting. They made a massive difference even with the stock suspension.

I've gotta say the more I drive it, the more I love it. I owned a 2011 WRX and found the suspension to be fairly harsh on that (and bouncy in the corners). The bilsteins are amazing, such a good compromise of comfort and handling.
