Hi guys, looking for some advice please.
Considering putting Audi 18 x 8s 35 Offset on my BP5.
Considering mainly 225/40s but also 225/45, 235/40 & 235/45
I've used the the Willtheyfit website stated in another post, but want to know if there are guard clearance issues with any of those tyres and perhaps a mild lowering.
Also, I have the Bilstein Struts/STI Springs and wonder what would be a good spring to mildly lower with?
Thanks in advance, J

What year model Audi? More recent Audis run a 5x112 PCD, and a 57.1mm centre bore - meaning you'd need adapter plates (illegal in every state and territory in Australia). Even if they're older Audi wheels with a 5x100 PCD, you'll need hubcentric rings to keep it centred (do *not* rely on your wheel nuts/studs to do this).
Be careful going much lower than the STI springs on stock struts - you'll start to compromise ride quality (riding on the bump stops isn't cool) and potentially even suspension geometry.

Rim spec will fit on Gen4 assuming 5 x 100.
225/40/18 is close to oem rolling diameter and legal.
King Spring lows will go about 10mm lower than the STi springs. I wouldnt go any lower than that. I have before with Tein S Techs and RSR springs and the ride suffers a lot.

Thanks guys, I'd probably go hubcentric rings, and if bump stops were an issue I'd consider custom replacements.
Not looking at sacking car, just closing the gap to the guard.

Which Audi wheels? There weren't too many 18x8 wheels with a 5x100 PCD that I'm aware of. Older S4 wheels?

So reps that fit an Audi, rather than being Audi wheels.
At least they're 5x100.

yep, and they're cheap, would hubcentric rings cost much?

Be aware that reps can sometimes have variable quality (and are often heavy).

haha, that I'm aware. R34 GTR wheels would look good on a Legacy, they're light and forged.

Coolies. Get yourself the hubcentric rings, and you should be sweet (pending the offset issues that you may or may not have to deal with with a +35 wheel

)

Yep, had a hilux that used to scrape inner guards, looking at doing couple modest Whiteline adjustments to the car.
Btw, what is a good tyre, I liked GSd3s?

So I ended up with 18 x 8 40 offset. Is 225/40s sweet to clear the guards?
