Road noise in my outback

Hi all,
Just like to get some points on what you would be checking in the front suspension area, to see what's worn out or bolts that may need retourqing to reduce the amount of road noise I get.

It's an 08 outback with standard suspension. I've already changed the LCA bushes with Phats edition. And I have 18s xxrs.

A lot of my driving is around marrickville/ St. Peter's area with a lovely mix of pot holes and expansion joint.

But I'm over the amount of noise I get every time I drive over a crack in the road. My mates v35 skyline with low profile 20s is much smoother and quiter than my outback like wtf?

The Phat LCA bushes probably increase noise, as they're harder than the stock items.

The Outback suspension setup was designed with 16" and 17" wheels in mind, so the increased sidewall hardness on lower profile tyres will be having an impact.

Your tyre selection will have an impact too - some tyres are quieter than others.

If you have the stock suspension, it may be worn, that will also have an impact.

Your mate's Skyline has a totally different suspension setup with totally different design goals (it's a pure road car, the Outback is a compromise between road manners and limited dirt/offroad capability), it may well just work well under the conditions.
