I'm planning on buying some Brembo brakes that are currently installed on a MY06 3.0R Spec B...

The brakes were from an 02 GDA WRX STI and currently have a dogbone adaptor to suit the R160 hubs.

I believe my car (MY08 GT Spec B) has R180 hubs? Will I need the dogbone adaptor at all? Or will I need to get another dogbone adaptor made up to suit my hubs?

Your hubs are 5x100 r160 type so the adapters should work.
The postFL 6mt has an r180 torsen diff so the rear driveshafts are essentially conversion type: 180 to 160
You will need the 5x100 Sti discs and the matching handbrake shoes from the donor car too

Question - if I got rear Brembo brakes (from say a GDB wrx sti on Yahoo auctions) - I take it I would need to purchase one of the dogbone adaptors, correct? And then ALSO make sure I get a DBA rotor to allow the 170mm stock handbrake to be used? Or do I just do one or the other? (just a bit confused).

And are all rear Brembo's much the same? (the BL5 legacy brembos, or the GDB wrx sti brembos, etc?)

Adaptors are required to fit rear Brembos to BP/BL rear hubs.
The adaptors bolt to the little mounts on the hub bearing carriers as seen in your pics.

If the Brembos were bought from a JDM BP/BL STi (as were mine) hopefully they will supply the stock dogbone adapters.

The rear Brembo caliper requires a matching diameter disc in 5x100 bolt pattern (libs are 5x100) and one of these from a 5x100 STi will require the handbrake shoes to be resurfaced with extra material to match the 190mm diameter handbrake drum on the disc.

Theres a set of DBA "adapter" rotors going on rexnet right now iirc.
I cant remember if those have the 170mm HB drum or the 190 but the info is all here somewhere...

Hi all sorry to dig up an old thread..

There's a possibility i can get a set of brembos from a JDM BL TB STI. Does that mean i wont need special dogbone adaptors or handbrake shoes so long as i grab them from the donor car being a TB STI and bolt on straight to my auto gtb?

The donor car is an auto from memory and so is mine.

Thats what i've just done to mine, remember its the backing plate that is the important part, brembo's are no different to normal ones.

Steal the black interior too if its a wrecked car, looks freakin sweet.

Wish I could steal the interior too but I doubt so as it appears only took the front cut + brakes from rear - details patchy at this point.
