Help with Work Kiwami

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble deciding on the size of Work Kiwami wheels. I want a balance of a good looking wheel but that's practice. I was wondering if I need to roll the guards for these sizes

18 X 7.5 - [5-100, +38 +47 +53]
18 X 8.5 - [5-100,+30, +38, +47]

I would prefer the 8.5 but what exactly would I need do do and what offset?

Do you know how much work is required for +38 offset ?

I was wondering how this impacts performance and handling?

8.5 +47 shouldn't require rolling...+38 will and +30 definitely will.

+30 would look the best in this wheel as it's a very aggressive looking wheel and the concave effect will be maximised with the lowest offset. It will however be the hardest to fit but will look amazing.

How much would the rolling cost at 8.5 +38?

I only ever purchased one set of wheels and they never needed this. I was also wondering why people are so hesitant on rolling guards?

Talk to Jay.ritchie. He has the 8.5 +38 in the CR Kai (predecessor to the kiwami). He has to run about 3 degrees of camber and had the guards rolled to get them to fit.

Kiwami's don't concave until 9" plus

So if you're sticking to 8.5", then going for a 30 offset isn't the best idea as it won't achieve anything other than more "poke" not "concave"

If you're not keen on a heap of guard work and camber and stretched tyres, then stick to 8.5 +47. If you dont mind a little guard work then 8.5 +38 will work too, but you will need some camber and rolling front and rear.

8.5 +30 is pretty aggressive. I'm surprised there's no concave...

+47 will flush or tuck especially if guards rolled upwards = lowest

+38 will flush but tend to poke thus guards rolled up and out a little, trim the rear forward plastic arch trim = at least 1" arch gap.

+30 will poke by at least 5mm = bigger arch gaps or rub city...



18 x 8.5 w/ 225 40 r18 on coilovers but not much camber dialed in.



About and inch of fender tyre gap.

It depends what look or useability you're after: at this height I only just scrape a few of the local "sleeping policemen" style central road humps.
The 8.5 +38 kiwamis look great but are, like mine, equipped with a more aggressive center crater than concaved spokes.

I got 18 x 8.5 with +40 offset it required roll the rear guards front is fine. I got Jax at liverpool rolled my for $120 and the done good job on my car.

Sorry to highjack the thread but I'm also looking at getting a set of wheels soon, with 18x9 in mind. I'm assuming the offset will need to be in the low 40s to sit nicely?
