+40 offset for MY08 GT?

Hi guys,

I've got Fawkner Wheels and Tyres calling me back on Monday regarding some Advanti Almera 18" wheels I'm keen on.

I asked about the offset, and they said it was +40, and allegedly fine on Subaru's. But, according to this thread*, +40 offset isn't compatible...

Does anyone know for a fact whether 18"x8" wheels with a +40 offset will fit on a MY08 GT without protruding past the guards, scrubbing, and will it fit around the brakes (stock brakes on my car)?

Edit: Another point I just thought of - are Advanti a reputable brand for wheels, or are they a bit cheap in terms of build/paint quality?

Thanks in advance.

First of all advanti are decent but not the best as for offset. 8 inch wide +40 should fit easy I know of multiple cars running +38 on 9.5s. They however stick out alittle.

18x8 +40 will fit with no problems at all. +35 would be a bit nicer in a 18x8 sizing.

I've never heard of any wheels not clearing standard gt brakes so Im pretty sure you're safe :)

Awesome, good to know.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at 245/35 tyres for the new wheels as well, and looking to keep the same rolling height as when I was running the 17" rims with the 215/45 tyres. Are 245/35's the way to go?
