2008 gtb rear brake locking issue

Ive been lurking on here for a while but this is my first real thread. I have an 2008 gtb and ive deveopled a brake problem. My 2008 gtb's driver side rear brake is staying on. Ive noticed this by the smell of burning brakes and the rim was hot.

I have pulled the brake apart and the piston will not go back after braking. What would be causing this issue and how do I fix it? I am going to buy a brake bleeding kit this week so I can pull the piston off the car.

Thank you

That's what I was thinking, but what would cause that? Ie how to stop this in the future?

Any number of things: wear and tear, brake fluid is hydroscopic so it absorbs water, the handbrake could have been left on cooking the assy... Etc

I'm no expert but a strip clean and new seals could be the go plus new fluid and bleed :)

And change fluid regularly for prevention?

Thank you.

I bought a caliper rebuild kit and fixed everything over the weekend. There was a lot of grit in behind the dust seal even tho it had not torn yet. Threw the new kit in and everything is fixed. I replaced all of the brake fluid throughout the whole car as it was brown not yellow / green colour.
