This has probably been covered 4,000,000 times but I couldn't find a specific answer to it.
I've got a lead on two different sets of springs for the 3.0R but not really sure which ones to go for.

One lot is a set of RSRs with a 30-40mm drop, the other is a set of STI pinks.
What I'm chasing is if anybody has used RSR springs and how do they fair compared to a set of pinks?

I've got RSR's in the wife's car - never had or been in a car with pinks.
RSR's are about as low as you'd go with struts, still 'comfy' and a level drop, i.e no saggy arse etc.
From what I've read, pinks only lower the car slightly.

Ive had both springs in the same car. STi pinks lower it approx 15mm.

Obviously less suspension travel with RSR's and they will bottom out occasionally. Ride is harsher with the RSR's also.

I found out these aren't the Ti2000 rsr, they're the next step down with the same spring rate but slightly less drop (max 40mm).
I did a half assed tape measure job of what 40mm would be like. It's never going to get into the missus driveway again, and will be a squeeze to get up mine.

I've read up about doing the bump stop trim on the front. Worth it you reckon Crusin?

Check out Swift Springs, lower approx 30mm-ish. I haven't bottomed out yet.
They soak up the smaller bumps better then my stockies and about the same on the harsher bumps.
Don't go STI, hardly notice the 15mm drop.

If you want to drop it 40mm, get coilovers. Ive had them in the same car also and the ride is far superior than any set of lowered springs.

The only reason I'm looking springs not coilovers is I've got a set of very low km billies in the shed, and the price is right (about 1/10th of coilovers).
If i had the $$ lying around I would be getting coilovers in a heart beat.

Personally if I was to do over with springs, Id just go with the STi's.

Ive had stock, STi, Tein (phat edition) and RSR's.

Have you given Prova Springs any thought? Very Similar specs to Swifts.

I have, but all the prices i've found them for are 3x the price of the RSRs before shipping.

True. They cost a little more. Second hand sets pop up every now and then though for good prices. I just got a s/h set arrive today via Jesse Streeter, Will let you know how they compare to STi Pinks if you're interested to know.

Will do Wideload... install will most likely be in the next week into my mates car. I have always found the STi pinks to be a little jittery trotting around daily at normal suburban speeds. I originally thought it could be due to hitting the bump stops, but on Pedder Springs it sits even lower than pinks and rides real smooth with the same dampers, so I guess it's the Pinks... and I've also read of others that experience the same feeling running pinks.

+1 to this guy's advice. If you want the most from the Bilsteins, don't dump it as you'll shorten the length of travel; the STi springs were designed within the limits of the factory Bilsteins.
