Hi Guys,

Just wanted to get some advice if i could please-
I have a 04 Liberty GT which was bought with slotted rotors, I took my it out to Jap Link motors in Rydalmere on the weekend who don't normally deal with Subaru's but i have a couple of friends who work there & fitted a boost gauge for me, while there they took her for a spin and were quite impressed by her performance (only mods X-Force mufflers, Tuned by Matt / Kido-Racing, Kobe Motorsport BOV with 1.1/16psi at the gauge) but they told me something i already suspected from vibrations when braking, they've said that my front rotors have started warping...& should look at new brakes soon, i assume brembo's won't fit on my 17" wheels so i was looking at this package, what do you guys think?

What are you looking to spend? RDA do the job for a street driven rig, you could pair them with some Hawk Performance Ceramics or go to Garage 88 for a set of Dixcel pads. I haven't read anything on RDA pads.

hmm spend wise i guess it depends what im looking at, i can probably go up to $500, Yeh i was looking into RDA, I wont be racing or anything like that but i still want a set of decent brakes too you know...ahh i just spoke with Matt and he recommended the later 06 lib gt or 06 h6 front calipers...

Ummmmm your car already has the exact same calipers.... 2 pot floating head calipers on 316x30 ventilated rotors.

Check your front inner lower control arm bushes. Very good chance your brakes are fine and your bushes are shot.

And as Sean said, you've already got the brakes that Matt is talking about. All GT, GT-B, 3.0R and 3RB from 04-09 have exaxtly the same brakes.

Do you think that would explain the vibrations? hmmm i don't mind starting with buying new calipers / pads anyways and getting my current slotted rotors machined on the front (if thats a possible solution, sorry still learning my car knowledge)

tbh i bought her 4 months ago and shes at 87000kms would you say she might be due for new calipers/pads as it is?

Yes. Worn out bushes as described will give you the feeling of warped rotors. Very common for the gen4. Your calipers are fine, if anything go rotors and pads.

Check your bushes and go from there. As I said there's a good chance your brakes are fine.

If you still don't have as much braking force as you desire, then id get some decent pads put in and consider getting your rotors actually checked out, not just random info from a mechanic with minimal Subaru knowledge.. Failing that your next step is brembos which is well out of your price range.
