Hey guys,
I have a 2007 H6 Spec.B Auto Wagon. Was talking with a mate and he suggested I look into coilovers for my car and when I went to a local Peddders Suspension the guy said it would be about $1,600 for the item and about $2,100 for item plus install. Would the difference in handling I gain be worth that much in your opinion?

Don't bother with Pedders they're a rip off - go BC BRs or an equivalent. They're around $1200 new and installation shouldn't be more than $400-500 at a reputable workshop.

Handling is much improved as to be expected, but don't discount other cheap handling mods first such as replacing your rear LCA bushes and a thicker rear sway bar.

Don't spend $1600 on their coilovers and definitely don't spend $500 for them to do the installation.

If it's purely just for looks and lowering with a slight improvement in handling on a daily driver go for BC BR coilovers. They are something you can also install yourself with some basics tools and beer.

I'd say go BC V1's, but the BR's are only like $50 more expensive..

If you ever make it to Sydney, Ichiban Imports in Ingleburn do the V1's for $1125 + $150 install. Saves you $$$ for the needed wheel alignment afterwards and other goodies

Yeah a guy at autobarn suggested BC, beer sounds good too haha. How much would something like the bushes and sway bar set me back? Ball park figure?
Ahk well I also just booked the car in for its next service and wheel alignment so I may wait a bit before installing them if I need to do another wheel alignment.

For that price of Pedders, it's not worth it.
Pedders XA coilovers are just rebranded BC Racing V1.
Buy yourself a set of BC Racing V1 coilovers and save yourself $600.

My previous set up was the Spec.B Bilsteins with Tein S-tech springs which I had no problem with comfort-wise (although it liked to hit the bump stops on hard bumps)
Currently have a set of XYZ coilovers with adjustable height and dampening.
My main reasoning for coil overs was to go lower to the exact millimetre that I wanted. Comfort wise, I was surprised how soft the coilovers went, making the ride smooth (but bouncy) but I have it set to 80% hard anyway. Bit hard to judge whether it's actually better performance wise with just street driving though as there are so many factors.

BC it is! Yeah that's fair enough, it is a pretty broad question but it all helps, so cheers.

J Speed LCA bushes, Whiteline rear swaybar, AVO HD mounts about $600-$620.. Add $150ish for end links roughly?

Search t and r autostyling on face book. The guy that runs it is a local down your way. He supplies re branded bc's for $1000 full set. He might know someone who could instal them as well. Or if you get stuck for instal bring it to Sydney and ill do instal for you

Also, agree with Mat04. Troy from T and R autostyling is a mate of mine and he's living locally. He imports his own branded coilovers which are rebranded BC or DGR coilovers (I forgot which one exactly)

You should see Courtney at Fulcrum suspension - he will hook you up with a set of teins for that money & less if you use your original strut tops

i'm new to the whole subaru thing but when the wife and i bought a 05 GT i told her that the squat has to be fixed so today i bought BC BR's. hopefully they can cover 1000+km by friday to be here for the weekend. will let you all know how it goes

If you don't mind a bit of DIY it should only take a couple of hours the first time you change the struts.

The main thing that has the potential to hold you up is if you get some really stuck bolts.

Then after that you'll probably have to take them off once or twice to adjust the height right. It gets faster after you've done it before though.

Then just pay someone to do a wheel alignment.
