Yesterday I purchased a set of XXR 530's 18x8.75 in a +35 offset, wrapped in a 225/40/18 tyre. I was aware from the start that they would probably poke out of the guard a bit and when they were put on this suspicion was confirmed. I took the car last my local mechanic yesterday to confirm that the poke was illegal. I called Ozzy and they've offered to get in the same wheel at a +40 offset. This would bring the wheel in 5mm towards the guard, correct? I was just wondering if that would then be legal. Can take pictures if desired. Any help is appreciated, cheers.

I didn't know poke was directly illegal? How much do they poke?

Why not just run around 1.5-2 degrees of camber? I have 18x9 +42 and the wheel is flush with the guard. And yeah going from +35 to +40 will poke 5mm less.

As far as I know, legalities of wheels relies on rolling diameter and track width..

Wheel/tyre protruding outside the guard is unroadworthy. +40 wont help much either. You need negative camber.

Also unroadworthy is 225's on a 8.75" wide rim. (in Vic anyway)

They poke probably about 15mm at the front and 5mm at the rear. And I'm still on stock suspension at the moment, looking at upgrading to coilovers in the near future.

Are your oem fronts set to maximum negative camber? Theres a camber bolt on the fronts that should get you approx -1.25 degree's.
