Kumho Ecsta 4X KU22 225/45-18

Anyone tried these tyres? $156 from International Tyre Trader http://www.tyretrader.com.au/

I'm not looking for a full-on performance tyre. But would still rather go with a fairly well known and recognised brand. Good deal or not?

As a daily commuter tyre they will be fine.

Im running Kuhmo Solus (forget the number) on the GT currently which is my wifes daily with no negatives. So Id say the 22's would be comaparable.

I use the 31's for about ~200 there abouts

I know absolutly shit all to do with tyres but would it be fair to say that the 31's are ment to be better then 22's??

The only reason I say this is because the higher number lol

Ive got the KU21 all rounders. They are similar to the KU22's. Ok as a daily. Dont like to be pushed though. I can only assume the KU22's are a bit better.

I'm very happy with the KU39 for the price too. Not all that much more than that price wise:

I'd go the KU31's... Good tyre for the price.

Otherwise the KU36's used to be very popular as a low cost performance tyre. Albeit, they are softer then say the KU31's.

They must be new, I haven't heard of them but if you look at their website the blurb on the KU22 has them rating them better than KU31
On their own little rating scale they give the KU22 4 and a half out of 5 for wet and dry grip but only give the KU31 4 out of 5.

From what I can tell they are part of their performance series (with KU31 and KU36) but designed more for comfort and all-round (read all-weather) driving.

I reckon they'd be worth a try as the price is pretty good.

Personally I'd wait for a few more reviews before I'd buy them, but they look to be excellent value

Agree - but maybe I'd be the first to buy and try on a Liberty (on this forum...)

Ive just fitted some KU39's. Which i got for $135 and i cant fault them. THey have been great so far in wet and dry. But i havent done many km on them yet, so cant talk too much about long term. However they are meant to wear well.
