Hi all, I got a quote from Just Jap for G4 Racing Coilovers for $1199 and I think this is a good price.

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this or heard anything about this brand, ride quality, etc? I dont want to go over the top with Suspension modification given that my car is N/A and all but these coilovers sounds like a good deal.

This is the link to the website http://www.justjap.com/g4streetinfo.htm

As I am looking to purchase these in the next month or so, please provide feedback as it would definitely help.

Cheers

Brian

I've heard mixed reports about these.

Good thing is that they can be rebuilt locally in NSW, not too sure about the quality but if you don't give it heaps of abuse then they should be fine.

If you're using them on street, then I'd change the springs to something with a softer spring rate, too.

Hehehe thanks guys....so these are not good ey?? Okay, well in that case I just stick to Tein S-Tech/Whiteline Springs, Cusco Front Strut Brace and hopefully these will be good enough.

I appreciate the feedback though....thanks heaps!! Just one more thing, what things have you heard from these that made them so bad???

Subie Boy, what are you looking to get out of your suspension mod? Is it after looks/appearance, track performance, or just a bit more controlled street handling?

They are cheap shit.

Get proper coilovers (not that much more if you speak to Phat) or just get some lowered springs.

I'm starting to form the opinion that lowered springs are a PITA

for the $500 - $600 cost for buying and getting installed I think the $$$ would be a better investment towards coilovers IMO

In that case, get a set of Tein S.Tech springs.

1) At under $300, they are excellent value. High quality and better priced than Eibachs or other near $500 springs. Yes, probably more expensive than other domestic made to order brands, but the quality is all there. Chuck in another $250 for installation, and perhaps another $70 for alignment and it's still

2) They offer a good lowering of 25mm front and rear (see my old setup and also check out MY07GT's current setup as we both had/have that currently which gives a nice aggressive appearance without being too for clearance issues.

3) Ride comfort is still there. The ride is actually better, being more controlled and settled.

Highly recommended!

Yes spending the $$ on coilovers would be more beneficial, but the $400 I spent on mine I am not complaining.

I did not want to spend the $1000 more it would have cost to get the coilovers.....yet
