This topic is to be a reference thread on how different wheel & tyre specs fit our libs.

The idea is that people can come here and see what size rims they need to get the look they want.

I will add a bunch over the next few days but if anyone else has any, post them and I'll add them to the main post.

I think it will be fine to stick any lib/outback models in the one thread.

Try to keep off topic banter, like how hella sick the cars look, to a minimum to keep this a reference topic.

Try to post pics of front and rear that show how far the wheels stick out (or don't stick out), with as much info as possible, like:

Rim size: 18x7 +55
Tyre size: 215/45/18
Guard work: rolled, pulled, flared, plastic trimmed etc.
Lowered: yes/no and roughly how much
Coilovers: yes/no
Spacers used: yes/no and if so how big
Any scrubbing currently: yes/no

Great idea Rooby! Will be good to compare fitment from the conservative to the extreme and should give others an idea what to expect...

Mine? Bone stock

Rim size: 18x8.5 +48 (i think that's the offset)
Tyre size: 225/40/18
Guard work: rolled, some of the plastic on the front I have pulled off because it was torn up by the wheel
Lowered: yes. ISC N1 coilovers. Worth $1400 new, picked them up for $800, had never been fitted. $300 to get them fitted. $100 for guard rolling front and rear.
Coilovers: yes
Spacers used: No
Any scrubbing currently: Occassionally. And scrubs on the inside when on full lock.

You really need to add ride height of the car and camber settings imo.

Rim size: 18x8.5 +48 (Rota Gravel in Hyperblack)
Tyre size: 225/45/18 (note: I should be using 225/40/18 - deliberately using larger tyres to fill out the guards a bit more and to correct the speedo).
Tyre stretch: Yes - a more appropriate tyre size for this rim will be 245/40/18.
Guard work: Rears rolled. Fronts untouched.
Lowered: No - stock height.
Coilovers: No - stock springs.
Camber: Stock front and rear.
Spacers used: No.
Any scrubbing currently: Yes - on the rear only, but only on large speed bumps on the fall side, or yumps at speed. Firmer springs or coilovers are likely to fix this.
General notes: Rear rims and tyres tuck into the guards fine. Front rims stick out of the guards at the front approximately 1cm. Tyres tuck into front guards fine.

Guard work: Pics are guards untouched. You WILL need backs rolled and fronts pulled & rolled. Will post pics when mine is done.
Lowered: Not yet
Coilovers: No

Any scrubbing currently: Without rears rolled, pretty bad rear scrub. Fronts are fine at standard ride height.
I have tyre stretch, 235's would stop that but you're playing a risky game making them fit. As you can see, fronts DO need pulling, they poke ridiculously

So im looking at a set of 18 x 8.5 + 30..... Any chance they will fit without poking out too much??

Really depends on the spoke design - my wheels are +48 and stick out no further than those +35 wheels (probably a bit less, actually).

They'll poke 2mm more.

Hyrax, +48 brings the rim closer to the strut than a +35 offset, rim width is important too.

My car isn't poking that ridiculously now. I've had the guards rolled and pulled and its fine.
The offset is probably a little bit low for a Liberty, and you can't pump the guards much as half of them are plastic -.-

Found some rims that i really like, sight unseen mind you so could be shit. But if it not too bad then maybe.!!

That has passed an impromptu inspection with the men in blue so it must be just legal. Fitment will be much better once I get my CO's.

for all the gen 2 owners.
Rims: 18x7.5 +45mm offset.
tyres: Federal 595's 225.35.18 have the perfect fit i think. dirrectly flush with rim lip
Lowered: not yet, but will be and front guards will need rolling. Rears are fine. a +42mm offset on the rear would actually bring the rims out a little bit further to make them as flush with the guards at the front.
Guards: untouched from stock.
Spacers: none

Rim size: 18x8.5 +46
Tyre size: 235/40/18
Guard work: stock
Lowered: standard Bilstein shocks and springs
Coilovers: no, but will be getting some soon
Spacers used: no
Any scrubbing currently: no, but anticipate there will be some minor scrubbing on the rears when I go lower.

As you can see, sits pretty flush on stock Spec B suspension.
