Where to buy Tein H-Techs from

Postby norbs » Fri Jan 18, 2008 5:22 pm

Does anyone know where I can get a set of these from. I was quoted a price well over $500 and maybe my best option is to get them from a reputable site in America.

UrbanGTB thanks for that, have sent them an email.

Did you get H-Techs? If so, how do you find the ride compared to stock?

Not much difference at all, the GTB bottoms out some harsh bumps stock and its slightly worse but its not as though it bottoms out now when it didn't before. The ride is about the same but handling is now more to my liking and you can really feel the rear wheel bias and its more point and shoot. Also the best thing about it and I am not sure if its the wheel alignment but it doesn't voilently react now when you get it wrong, it simply slides and the AWD brings it back eventually. I am not Fernando Alonso and I can control a slide better than being on the edge all the time.

It doesn't flatten the ride though for the corners, I am going to look at getting some sway bars to fix that but I am very happy with them. I would have bought coil overs but on a car with bilsteins that had only done 8000kms the value for money voice in my head suggested its not worth it.

Forgot to mention also mine are S techs so I assume the H's would be very comfortable. This is what it looks like with the Tein's. Could be a touch lower at the front but at least its not stock height otherwise I feel dirty.

Thanks for that review. I think I'm pretty much sold on the H-techs then. S-techs probably a little too low for me but does look sweet I must admit.

Nah thats not low at all... My wife has been driving my car for the past month and she has not scraped once. The only time I have thought the ride was rough was driving impatiently on the pacific highway to a meeting in North Sydney and everyone knows how bad those roads are.

You can go too low  I have a steep driveway so 1inch drop is tops for me. Also it's generally not a good idea to run out of travel otherwise you'll be bottoming out
