Hi guys I'm just after some advice I have an 05 gt manual and I'm after new brakes. Problem is I'm buying deluded advans and I'm gonna be tight for a while but my brakes are all bit gone. So I'm after a resonable setup that won't cost me my soul. And that will stop me when I'm giving it some which is always as I live in the hills with excellent driving roads any advice would be apreciated guys thanx

upgraded pads and rotors would be perfect for what your after.

Front DBA 4000 slotted rotors - $500
Upgraded pads all round - $350-$500.

Remsa
Dixle
Project mu

They are some good brands of pads but there are so many out there.

Legend bro well within my range which pads would u recommend just as point of reference and best place to buy even though I think I know.

I Personally run project mu's in my brembo's. They do squel a little when cold though and Im not sure if they make a pad for the sock gt calipers.

the Remsa HPT's are a great pad for the $$$. dont squel and have great bite. Much cheaper than a project mu pad or dixle.

Sweeeewt thanks guys that's awsome help. I plan to upgrade calipers but the gt ones are ok for now once I have coilovers ill probs get brembos but for now I'm concerned about stopping thanx heaps

Consider adding braided brake lines and a Master Brake Cylinder upgrade to your shopping list as well for a firmer, non-spongy brake pedal.

Good advice man I've actually got braided lines from my wrx which should work as far as master cylinder that would be awsome but maybe down the track a bit

Sadly a WRX set of lines will not work as you're two lines short - Liberty's have 6 lines, not four. You could probably use the fronts, but the rears will be useless.

The Master Brake Cylinder upgrade is easy and really cheap too!

Any wrecker or eBay can help you there. Just look for any STi being pulled apart. You just need the brake booster and the master brake cylinder components (verify the part by looking at the bore size stamped underneath the MBC - it will say 17/16"). Should set you back no more than $130 or so (plus fitting if you can't do it yourself).

I'm personally using a 2005 STi BB and MBC in my 2008 Liberty. Works a treat!

Cheers guys this is why I love this forum all this info is awsome I'm not bothered bout the lines ill just sell em id rather go all new anyway the cylinder is interesting not something I would have thought about thanx bro
