3 stage brakes?

Hi Guys,
I have an 06 Liberty 3.0 auto and noticed that whilst im sitting at the lights, sometimes the brake pedal will sink a little. This also happens sometimes when I shift from "P" to "N" at a long set of lights.

I automatically though air in lines, and when I took the car in for a service last week, I asked the consultant how much to bleed them (I could do it myself but can't be bothered or don't have time to do it these days).

He said there was a 3 stage brake system in these cars and this is normal?

This is my first Subaru and i've never heard of such a thing in other cars?

Is this a SUBARU "feature" or do I need to bleed the lines?

Mike

Remember that the brakes are electronically assisted... don't know about three-stage, but it's possible that it would apply less at certain times.

just a quick FYI.

the 2.5i does the same thing.

as you press teh pedal, there's a pop at the bottom. it's relative to how quickly you hit the pedal.

i've tried it on another 2.5i and it's exactly the same.

was orginally told that it's a feature only on the 2.5i

ps: don't shoot the messenger. :)
