Just in case anyone wanted to see what a GenV would look like with STI springs, some pics below (after spending arvo with Phat and company yesterday)

BTW - an improvement in ride handling was more important to me than looks (at this point in time), so I chose STI springs rather than TEINs. The drop in height was only by about 15mm

How does it feel?
*Car rides flatter, esp when cornering - looking back, there is definitely less body roll >> springs
*Feel more of the road (potholes, bumps, rocks, etc) through steering wheel >> bushes
*STI pink springs firmer than stock, but not too firm to be uncomfortable

In a nutshell - the handling and cornering is WAY MUCH better (as someone else describes, it feels very much "point and shoot")

first will be a set of enkei raijins (gunmetal)

Looks great! However, having had both STI and Tein springs in my car, ride handling is better with the Teins, so I think the decision should be more around ride comfort when it comes to choosing pinks over the teins, as well as what kind of driveways you frequently need to drive in and out of

Thanks Jerome - yeah, youre spot on..... comfort was very important too (it is meant to be a family car after all!)

I definitely think the mod bug is getting to me though... (as shane noted on satursday, i've resisted it for nearly 18 months)

Props for lasting as long as you have! I barely lasted a couple of weeks! The less time you hang out at Phat's or on the forums the easier it is on your wallet haha

As a result of hanging out on the forums for the past two weeks, I'll be getting a couple of new add ons ... the first is a set of gunmetal (charcoal?) rims

perhaps a tune as well LOL

I was at Phats the following week and he installed Cusco front and rear swaybars. Highly recommended !
Bushes and Tein springs will go in sometime next week. Will post up once all my mods are done. Wat else do you have planned ?

This weekend: picking up STI enkeis (MY06-07 type), with repaint in gunmetal
Others planned: Rear roof spoiler (picked it up from youngy for a bargain price), swaybars, and that will do me for this year (I've exhausted my "toys" quota for this calendar year).
Next year: upgraded rotors and brakes

Oh, will need a nice set of 'lowish' profile roof racks for the ski gear

no doubt the forums will give me more ideas...... for something different I was considering an upgrade to the stock horn (puny electronic-version) to a twin set of air horns.

Thanks Andrew... I'm trying to be disciplined in my approach to the mods, OEM-ish yet enough to be unique and fun in the twistys

And the great news is that I've just picked up my 06-07 STI enkeis this weekend! 2 of the 4 rims have seen a fair share of gutter rash, so I'm going to reprint all of them (onyx metallic). It will be in gunmetal-ish colour... So will be getting a set of black nuts and lock nuts soon (I don't think chrome ones will match)

I do have this slight issue though, as mentioned on the lib Facebook page: I keep getting flashes of images of how good black (or red) brembos look behind these enkeis.... Bloody looking at the forum pictures for toooooooooo long

Went up going with magman at punchbowl. greg looks like he knows his stuff, doing it for like 10+ years. he quoted 125-130 per rim. should be ready in a week.

Better than the 150 per rim i was quoyed this morning

Ask him if it would be the same price for the shadow chrome colour haha. If so that's a good price and will go to him too!
