Average price for fitment of lowered springs? (Syd)

Postby Spec.B-GT » Fri Apr 27, 2012 11:03 pm

Hi all,

Just thought i'd start a thread to get an idea of average prices paid out there to get some lowered springs fitted. I have my own springs already and just looking for a reputable workshop in sydney to fit the springs on for me.

I called around for some quotes today, and was getting quoted anywhere from $395 onwards. I even got one alarming quote today for a whopping $700 from Pedders in Blacktown! (that was just for them to fit my own supplied springs!) i thought this labour charge was ridiculous, so just wanted to get an idea of what a fair price would be for this kind of labour, and also recommended workshop in sydney to get this done.

Its not Sydney, but here in Melbourne you'll pay $375 for King Springs supplied and fitted at a reputable workshop that Ive used numerous times.

Those quotes are crazy. Wheel alignment included?

Most were quoting an additional charge for the alignment, including the $700 quote i got from Pedders in Blacktown. Most places wanted extra for this.

The Pedders quote you got wasn't out of the ordinary. i got quoted 850 plus 360 for the springs and no wheel alignment. they suck

I think you might find it pretty common to get quoted a couple of hours labour to install self supplied springs.
They dont get out of bed for nothing these days.

I ended up getting the springs fitted for $350 at Pedders Granville, not including alignment. I was happy with this price considering some of the ridiculous quotes I had been getting prior.

The guys at Granville really took care of my ride and did a really professional job. Overall really happy with their work, and their service.

Here's a pic of my new ride after the install... 40mm drop all round on H&R Springs... (btw, not liberty specific)
