In anyone's opinion, is this kit necessary or advantageous if the vehicle is not lowered below stock MY07 STi height?

It will stiffen the ride and improve turn in even if your not 35mm or lower. :)

Great advice, would the WL RCA kit complement Phat LCA bushes?

By which I mean, is this mod still within the realm of a street spec setup?

I've been advised to not go over the top as regards upgrading everything

I do understand it's a "how long is a piece of string" question but with lots of forum assistance and guidance, I'm planning to do my suspension upgrades in one hit, install, align and enjoy, so any feedback is most welcome.

I always incourage people to get as many poliuruthane buses in their suspension as possible. Metal bushes are for track use. But the poliuruthane ones are great for road use. I sell all the whiteline gear at 20% off their listed price. Flick me a pm for a qoute on anything :).

Since when do people use metal ones?

Whiteline offer all their bushes in poliuruthane (street) or metal (track). People that are building for track work normally purchase the metal bushes off me. Far more responsive but incredibly stiff. For a good read on why metal bushes fail on the street read about why the Ferari F50 was a complete fail. That to this date is the only car that had metal bushings all round out the factory.
