After 2 sets of RE050A's on OEM 18's, I converted to the Rosso's on Enkei SC16 18x7.5. The Bridgestones were excellent in the wet and never made a noise in hard corners in the dry.

The Pirelli's are certainly great tyres now that they have worn in a bit, but initially I was a bit disappointed with the squeal on my favourite "S". Wear on the Rosso's is much more even across the tyre.

Got a special deal with the wheels and paid only $400 each in June 07. Much less than the quotes for the Bridgestones.

Damn you! I just paid $400/each for Pirelli PZero Nero 225/40-18! Under $300 is a great bargain for Pirelli's.

Where do the Rosso's sit against the Nero's in the Pirelli line up? I checked the Pirelli site but it didn't say which was better specifically.

Noise wise, which one seems better?

According to the Pirelli website the Nero is suppose to be no compromise performance, while the Rosso is less performance but greater on comfort and noise.

I'm finding that to be true. The Rosso's were quite comfortable and quieter, while the Nero tends to transmit the bumps through the car more. Ironically the Nero's scored higher than the Rosso's for comfort at the Tire Rack webite:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=PZero+Nero

I can't do a fair comparison because I got the Nero's after I lowered the car. However I do feel more confident and settled on the corners.

Price-wise the Rosso's RRP is $534 while the Nero's RRP is $514.

The Pirelli Rosso's give a much better ride than OEM Bridgestones. I went with the Rosso's to take some sting out of the OEM Bilstein's and it has certainly helped. My research also indicated that the Nero's are a more rigid design.
