im going to be purchasing a set of 18x8 wheels soon, and im just curious as to what size tyre i can/should run?

im after a bit of sidewall that overhangs the wheel to help protect a bit from gutter rash and also run a xxx/40/R18 aswell

235/40/18 or some tyre like the Dunlop sp spot Maxx have a overhang rim protector in the tyre itself looks good even for 225.

I can take a pic on a 18x8 if need

i have a friend in the truck tyre business who seems to think a 255/40/18 tyre would be best suited and then told me it wouldnt even fit my car,
but a 255 is 10" wide tyre. i told him a 235 would be an ideal size, but i thought i would gauge interest to see what everyone else things.

i was thinking of going either Toyo T1R's or Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric's as they both get good reviews, the latter winning WHEELS tyre of the year

Like i said I would go 225 or if legal in your state 235 as its a cheap tyre and good size for lib.

There is another thread with tyre recommendations but pilot sport 3 is a excellent tyre.

i know a place where i can get PS3's for cheaper than usual too

im not sure what the legal size is at the moment, as im a NSW driver with a NSW car living in VIC... its a touchy one there

well from research into NSW laws, 18x8 rims are legal and so are 235 tyres looks like i found my answer

out of curiosity too, they should fit fine with stock billies?

ahh thanks hamish they look to be a perfect fit.

looks like ill be getting wheels sooner than later
and i might hit gambit up for a set of his tyres he has FS as a cheap alternative till i can afford new tyres.
