Hey guys,

Looking to get my car lower, currently just have king springs front and rear but I had been told by the person who installed them that it's as low as I can go without getting coil overs.

First question is can I go lower with just springs?

Should the answer be no. I'm after a set of coil overs that have the least stiffness in ride quality I want the ride to be very forgiving. My car will never be tracked raced or driven to hard. So having a stiff setup is useless to me I just want it lower.

So based on your experience do any of you all ready run a suspension setup that you think will suit my needs?

I'm trying to spend a maximum of $1500

If anyone from WA had has there suspension done by a particular group and is happy with the results please plug them here and I'll be sure to give them a call for a quote.

Yes you can go lower with just springs...cut them to what ever height you desire.

I doubt it..you want forgiving suspension and that is not going to happen unless you increase the height somewhat as you need suspension travel to soak up the bumps..

I'd suggest searching throught the suspension section as there is a heap of good info there for you to make a more informed decision.

A fully tuned set of Motec coilovers won't change the fact that suspension needs travel to work properly.

Lowering takes away travel, which necessitates firmer springs.

In laymen's terms, you need the stiffer suspension when lowering with coilovers as it stops your car from smashing into the ground at every bump

Yeah, that I understand, just trying to find the softest available option! Thanks for the input, have dropped quotes at a few places so waiting to hear back!

My KW V2 coilovers gave me a more comfortable ride than when I just had lowered springs.

Then you can change the springs to your firmness tastes (about $450 for all 4 from Summit racing and you can go LOW !
