Installing rear sway bar and HD mounts

This might be a stupid question,but i want to make sure I do it right considering the recent thread about the snapped bar.

The HD mounts that I have are Cusco ones from PHAT GT as well as the bar, now the bar looks to be a straight forward fit, however the mounts have me a little confused do they simply bolt onto the existing mounts? and if they do what is to stop the existing mounts from breaking at the weld spot? I will admit I have no idea about suspension and havent looked too much at the current setup besides having a little peek under to car today, with out it being raised.
Any help would be great guys

I have only seen one picture of a snapped swaybar mount and it snapped about halfway on the mount, might have actually been at one of the bolt spots where the surface area of the metal is less. So the HD mounts which do just bolt on to the existing mounts, stop it from snapping in half.

This is the only picture I could find in my folders of my HD mounts. Bit dated as I have the cusco swaybar instead now among other things different in the picture.

I never knew Cusco made one

I just install the avo one a few days ago, still with stock sway bar and the improvement can be felt

ps. I painted black, it was orange ...

The Cusco HD mounts bolt straight on to to the existing mounts, no further modification required. I had this question as well when doing this upgrade, just bolt on and be happy.

Thanks for the replies guys ill be bolting the bar and mounts on tomorrow after work and then on thursday its a trip up through the twisties

you'll love this upgrade...HUGE difference over stock, back end is much stiffer. You don't even need to go through hills to feel it. Honestly man, I was blown away at what a little blue bar can do

Do you know which avo rear sway bar mount is suitable for the post face lift spec b? As there is a 65mm spaced version and a 75mm bolt spaced version .

I contacted AVO and they told me the same thing as Jim (tek--),to measure it, from centre to centre of the bolts. I got confused when some site say the 2.5l use the 76mm, better off measuring it

I got the 65mm ones for a '06 MY07 but they might change for different year

Well my bar is in, ill post pics after i go for a drive tonight

tomorrow its looking for the source of the knocking noise in my front left.

Had some fun trying to get it in, scratched it a little.

I cant believe the difference, do you get a similar gain by doing the front one?
