Hey all,

I'm looking at getting some lowered springs for my 2004 Liberty GT.

I require a 1" (25mm) drop on rear and a 1.5" (38mm) on front. Does anyone know of any company that produce something to suit my requirements?

I have found the following:

King Springs: say they lower 1.2"-1.4" (30-35mm) but it will be too much for the rear and possibly not enough for the front and I want the front to be lowered slightly more than the rear so it sits even all around.

Pedders: do a 2" all round drop aswell but this will be too much and once again won't be even front and rear.

Tein: Might be suitable. H.Tech 0.9" Drop (rears) + S.Tech 1.5" Drop (front) - Does anyone know a local supplier in Sydney or atleast Australia?

H&R: 1.4" Front and 1.3" Rear - might be able to get away with it but would prefer a 1" max drop on rear.

Also does anyone know if the strut nuts have to be replaced once removed as I have been informed they are a single use lock nut?

Coilovers FTW!! Wishing I did that in the first place!

How many km's have your struts done? If you are still on the factory ones then you might want to consider upgrading to Bilsteins which can be had for only $500 from Wheel Power.

I've already got Coilovers on my other car and not a fan of it for everyday city driving, too harsh in my opinion even with the spring platform + damper adjustment.

My struts have done 95,000km but I do have a second pair of struts that were removed from a GT with 55,000km so will be using those with the lowered springs and keeping my standard struts stock as spares.

i run bilstein struts with king springs 35mm lowered all around - i upgraded the shocks on the weekend (previously running kyb's)

i love the ride albeit the king springs are a little firm and lose some composure over pot holes and bumps. From the suggestions tein s-techs would be a better ride with the bilsteins and give you a similar stance as the kings

just remember the rears are meant to sit lower in the awd layout - it helps with the symmetry and weight distribution

I installed the Pedders lowered springs in the front only on the weekend and the car now sits even height all around. I'm still deciding whether or not I will lower the rear slightly or just keep it the way it is.
