Subaru Sherpa Brake Lines

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on replacing the brake lines in my Sherpa? Had the front wheels off today to have a bit of a sticky beak, proactive maintenance kind of thing (it's a 25yo car after all so I like to keep track of any changes). I should have taken some pics to help describe it better, but, the brake lines within the wheel well have started perishing pretty badly. The braided inner appears to be intact but would like to nip any possible problems in the bud sooner rather than later.
