Any one know the difference between RE050/RE050A and RE050A RFT and even RE040

You need to do some homework, Hamish.

Customs use the total value (including shipping).

RFT == runflat. They are terrible.

RE040 and RE050 are in a completely different league of tyre.

At that price, you may as well get something like an RE11 or AD08 and make it worthwhile .. or just buy local. There are bargains to be had locally.

I read this being the value of the goods not shipping costs as well. Thanks, will look into it but budgetting $1,000-$1,200k at this stage for 18x8's

You can put 235/40R18s on an 8" rim. If you haven't bought the wheels yet, 8.5" is better.

235/40 is closer to the factory size and quite cheap locally as many Falcodores use that size.

If you budget is $1,200 you'd easily buy something like this locally.

I have 18x8 ultra leggera's. so happy to move to 235's. Anything that's better then the falken 452's that lastest 12,000kms

With correct inflation and alignment, FK452s should last a lot longer than that.

I've gotten much better than that out of KU36s and PZero Corsas! *

* I do drive like a Nanna though.

I have heard good things about the FK452's from mates with big horse power cars

Had a wheel alignment done every 3 months at least. I don't drive like a Nanna though, but still didn't hit the track or anything

I'll vouch for those too. Have done 20 odd thousand kays on them in the last 12 months with some very spirited driving in amongst that. Mine are 225/50R17 and have resisted rolling over on the sidewall under heavy corner loads a lot better than the 215/45R18's I had on it previously. They're still comfortable (as a 50 series 225 wide should be) though. Very confidence inspiring, if anything a bit too much so in the wet...

Unfortunately, the tyre I rotated onto the front left got itself screwed last week. Hoping I can get it plugged on Saturday as they have another year left in them otherwise I'll go 235/45R17 I think

Hey hamish, I also have the fk452 falkens on my 19s and so far I've done around 11k and mine are still in good condition, plenty of tread left

Looking back at when I bought them they did last 18,000kms and now they are to the point of defect. Still wasn't the best tyre I have had, not bad for <1k but wouldn't go back to the 452 falken's.

The Michelin sport pilot 3 sound great. great reviews from all fields and a mate suggested them as well so will jump on them

I've got the Michelin Sport Pilot 3, 235/40/r18 on 8" rims.

Got them a few months ago, cheap too at just shy of 1k from JAX. Awesome!
