hi all,

is it just me or does the liberty's seem like it squats at a natural stance. i have a stock my08 2.5i & i was thinking of lowering it with sti pink springs for looks. i don't like to change spring rates cuz it screws up the handling and mismatches the stock shocks and then bounces the car all over the road around twisties. but can lowering just the fronts be possible without interfering with handling?

I have a GTB Tuned by Sti and I think they tend to sit pretty flat with the pink springs.

Here is a pic of the car... the chin spoiler helps a little bit visually, but i think it would still look pretty level without it.

its because the libs are like dragsters, hahaha

on a more serz note... yea ive notice it as well dunno why its like that maybe i hav to many bags of rice in the boot

You'll find that all most all subaru cars(ex foresters and outbacks) are a little lower at the back than the front. Dunno why tho...

it just looks soo outstanding on the liberty... it craps me. what's the downfall of just lowering the fronts yet maintaining smiliar spring rates as stock (i.e. sti pinks)

Well, if you can find springs that are the same rates as your stock springs but only lower the front my a marginal amount (say 5mm) they there shouldn't be any real issues.

Btw, are the Sti springs youre talking about made for your model car?

Most lowering springs are more lowering the fronts than the rears anyway.

maybe cause subaru's are made for the real world. so the front does scratch everytime u try to drive it up the drive way.

Just because there's less clearance between the tyre and guard at the rear, doesn't mean the car has a squatting stance. for the car to sit level, you do need to have less clearance at the rear. This is the case with most cars, as tangcla said.

front wheels have to handle steering, rear doesn't...

The rear does sit lower. When I went to put chains on at the snow this year (it's a whole other story) I thought the front was hard to get them on but the back was impossible when I tried. So I can tell you by experience it's lower at the back.

Why did you try and put chains on the rear?
