Does Spec B Bilsteins lower the car?

Postby EAT22B » Wed Jul 06, 2011 5:21 pm

Just bought a set of new Spec B Bilsteins off Paul at Claermont Tyrepower for my 04 LGT wagon. Just wondering if these actually lower the car at all? I really just want to take away the big gap between tyre and guard at the front. Rear actually looks fine. Or would a set of swift springs be too low or hard? Keeping in mind the LGT is my daily.

Comments and suggestions greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Ben

I didn't notice much of a difference when I put the Bilstein struts into my MY05 GT. Maybe 5mm once they settled in, but that's about it. They still use the standard GT springs as far as I know, it's just the struts are a bit firmer.

Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

Thanks Phil ,looks like I'll be getting those Swift springs then. According to their website they drop the front 30mm and rear 25mm.

yep I got zero height difference. I regret not doing springs at the same time now :(
