Rear brake upgrade question...

Postby tangcla » Wed Sep 05, 2007 7:49 pm

Has anyone tried putting their front calipers on the rear? It should be doable... right? With custom anchors.

Your biggest problem will be clearance and also getting the handbrake components to fit with the larger disk.

And it would probably not be cost effective for the improvement (if any).

Actually I was thinking of using the standard rear rotor, to keep the handbrake shoe intact.

Your front caliper is designed to operate on a 30mm wide rotor, your rear rotor is 18mm so no it cant be done.

i had some guy who wanted to buy front STi brembos off me to fit to his rear of his WRX. He didn't care about brake bias because he was using it for rallying.

He must be a wanker as Rally cars usually run 15"rims and theres no way they would fit. Most people that rally remove the brembos and use standard WRX calipers.
