Hi everyone. Looking at buying a set of the KW Variant 2 for my '04 GT. I have a price of $1700US to my door. Seeing if there are others that might be interested in a set. Serious buyers only please.

Cheers,

I'm using KW coilovers. They're very comfortable, I like mine :)

Since there was no interest expressed, the order went ahead and was put through last week.

Nice how do they compare to the BCs?

I know this is probably blasphemy, but other than noise (because BC's use camber plates where the KW's use stock top mounts) they're similar.

Comfort: Very close call, I think the KW's are just that smidge better, if I were to put a value on it, the BC's would be 8/10 for comfort and KW's 9/10. Bumps don't feel as sharp on the KW's.

Noise and Vibration: KW's win hands down.. Again due to the top mounts

Performance: Unsure, I only finished installing the rears this morning at 11AM, and havent been for a spirited drive yet. Even if I went for a drive, I'm not the best at gauging how things compare.

Adjust-ability: BC's are the clear winner, each coilover has a knob at the top that can adjust dampening, height and pre-load can be adjusted independently plus the rear coilovers can be adjusted via the extenders. Where as the KW's you need a hex key to adjust dampening, while adjusting the height also adjust pre-load. That said, the KW's are simpler to adjust the height and harder to adjust dampening. It must also be noted that BC's have camber tops so you can dial in huge camber if needed which is a plus. You can get camber plates for the KW's but that would probably eliminate the pros mentioned above

Price: Well, because of the exchange rate, the KW's are quite affordable now. There's about a $500 difference between the BC's and the KW's.

Which would I choose? KW's because I like to keep my ride quiet and comfy. That said if I were to run to a super aggressive wheel fitment like my previous set up I had with my BC's, I'd probably buy the BC's due to cost, as KW's + camber tops would end up being MUCH more expensive than buying BC's that are 85% as good as the KW's.

Darren.

Awesome post mate! It's a hard choice between the two, though in terms of a compliant daily driver setup the kw sound perfect.
