Mine are fine at 160K - damping under control but I'd still go for rebuild/revalveing pending results after the rsb is fitted

Jacked up the car. Then using another jack, raised and lowered the strut. Can't be 100% sure but sounds like either the Koni or the top hat is shagged. Only makes the sound when I lower the jack i.e unweight the suspension. I think it's time for shock rebuild. Will have to book it in with Trutrack.

Did you tighten the top nut up? Hold the shaft from rotating with an Allen key and do the nut up with a ring spanner...

Yeah, nut is tight. But I didn't try it unweighted. No probs, booked it in with Trutrac so hopefully they can sort it out.

I'm still dealing with the annoying knocking noise after trying to tighten the strut insert bolt. Looking like new Bilsteins are the way to go...that or a new car!

Well Ralph at Truetrack sorted it out. Happened to be the upper bearing in the strut. Fronts sent of to Koni for service ($135 each). Ralph also went over everything and re-did the alignment. I asked him to back the fronts off as the car was too sharp and tracking. Rear toe was farked apparently (alignment done by last tyre place I went to ). Car handles bloody brilliant now !!! Big thumbs up to Truetrack

Not sure I didn't ask. I said to him it tracked too much so he said that he can tune that out to a degree. I'm assuming it's camber and toe/in out.

Has anyone had this on a standard GT? - my Wagon has done 114k and has just started making a noise in Drivers side front. happens when suspension is under load turning left and while braking if the car goes over a small bump? - any thoughts or help appreciated??

Top bearing is common but it can be anything related to the front steering & suspension system

I have checked the suspension all seems good- CV is leaking a bit of grease but not too bad (both inner boots) while driving noise sounds like its in the drivers side
shock tower only if the CV were gone I should get noise both sides - right?

Maybe jack the front drivers side and lift/jerk the wheel upwards?

But you'd probably have remove the strut in order to decompress/remove the spring from the strut to properly check...

I have a leaking inner boot, no clicking (yet)... Best to wrap those up if not fixing anytime soon...
My local driveshaft shop will do the boot for $50 if self removed/ reinstalled.
