Diff cradle bushes, and noise in front end

Postby Brad88 » Sun Mar 27, 2011 11:32 am

I just had my my07 3.0r spec b serviced on Friday and of the bushes on the front cradle for the diff is completely stuffed, it's the cradle that goes underneath the front of the diff one of those two bushes are completely stuffed, does anyone know of a aftermarket replacement one?? I can find the whiteline diff cradle bushes but there the ones that insert into the stock bushes. If anyone has had this problem or knows where to get some please let me know.

Also there has been a noise in the front end the mechanic checked it out and didn't really find anything wrong so I think it might be a shock the car has done 76000k's, it's a fairly solid sounding clunk that only seems to happen driving slowly like 20-50kph and is a bit louder when you turn

If anyone could help it would be awesome

Email stephen Halliday at whiteline and ask him which bushes to use. Thy make them (non insert, complete bush and crush tube). The factory hydraulic bushes are bullshit.

He'll know the ones. There is rear diff and diff snout, replace em all...

Clunk will be steering rack ends, cv joint, control arm bush flogged out or a broken swaybar mount. All easy to check with a jack and a prybar. Move shot until you find the loose bit and identify it.

I had a mystery noise in my front end like that. Ended up being the front strut top mounts.

stephen was very helpful and told be exactly what i need,

so im replacing both the front bushes and buying the inserts for the rear ones. was thinking of getting the rears replaced but its just to big of a job.

so ill just have to find a day where i can get under there and replace them.

also i had a brief window (about 5 mins) of no rain after work so i gave the nuts on the top of the struts a quick tighten up they all moved about 1/4 of a turn so they were a little loose but i should find out tomorrow if the noise is still there,

if it is i think it may just be a shock so if it is i was thinking why replace when you can upgrade :) so i might have a set of tein coilovers on the car in the near future

thanks for all the help guys.
