Are the brakes amongst the gen4 (non-STi models) the same? i.e. brake pads, rotors etc.

Brakes is something I am looking at upgrading

But I think Brembo's are too much...

I've already got a set of Brembo Gran Turismos on the way give it about a month or two.

326mm crossdrilled rotors... silver Brembo calipers... stainless steel brake line...

To start with you don't need Brembo's or any other expensive replacement brake kit. Get some better pads, rotors and fluid (esp. the fluid if you're going to do track work) and then see how you go. Of course you'll still have the fugly factory calipers but hey nobody goes for the Brembo's due to how they look, do they.

Been there, done that. Sure, Brembos might be a bit overkill, but the stock caliper system is absolutely shocking and inadequate. It can't handle any more braking and a brake pad upgrade and better rotors will only give 20% better performance for 60% of the price of the Brembo setup.

How much did your Brembo package cost? Is it the same as what Subaru are using?

To answer the original question. Yeah they are the same. The 2.5GT(sepo) & 3.0R of the year had the same brakes. Part numbers for different parts can be difficult depending on vendor because GTs were not the biggest run of vehicle in history and sepos had the different car.

After my MY03 WRX, the brakes are good but not brilliant. Mind you no fade on the road even after hitting victoria pass like I was driving a stolen. Track work is exactly that so everything changes.

Brembo callipers are also a lot lot lighter than the cast iron stock units.

It's just for the fronts.
