18x8.5 +48mm XXR 522 on a 1999 BE

Postby greenlib69 » Thu Jan 13, 2011 8:58 pm

Hi guys,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-XXR-522-BLACK-RIMS-WHEELS-SUBARU-WRX-IMPREZA-LEGACY-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem45f632a03dQQitemZ300483256381QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2287wt_862

Wondering how much effort there'll be fitting these on my GEN 3 BE (guard modification etc..). Anyone had any experience with similar sized wheels? I will be lowering approx. 1 - 1.5 inches before getting any after-market wheels...

Thanks in advance :)

They should fit, might need to roll the rear guards due to 8.5".
And might need some Whiteline bushes or arms to fix up the rear camber to get them to fit easier.

I got 18 x 9.5 +38 (+33 in the front) to fit a BH.

Thanks for the reply

Ok so just the rear hopefully. I'll consult the mechanic who's doing the suspension, coz I'm replacing the rear bushing anyway so hopefully the stockies will handle the set up until I get the rims. Btw the tyre size will be the most common 225/40/18 for now.

Now just to earn the money...

make sure of the 8.5 wheels and go for a 235 of 245 tyre.

but remember different tyre brands have different overall widths
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

I've got 235/45 on an 8.5 and I wouldn't want to go less unless you are after the dodgy bosozoku stretch look.
