Aggressive Offset/Hella Flush Liberty's Etc... Yessss!

There is often no way to eliminate rubbing completely, but you can usually get rid of all but the harshest of bumps.. my setup is reasonably flush, and still rubs on super-hard bumps, but the rest of the time, it's sweet!

Can often go to a size skinnier tyres as well to help bring the tyre in a bit more if you're having trouble!

could go for massive offset with stretched tyre look.

my old gen two was getting close to that

Well if you run enough camber or get rid of any protruding parts on the arches theres no reason your rims cant be flush without rubbing. But yeah, I think I'm over the scrubbing thing, really don't wanna fork out more money for new 18" tyres due to them being shredded by the arches.

Hey there everyone, I'm lookin at buying a NA Liberty sedan, (P plate restricted or without doubt it would be a gt) and I was thinking of running 18x9.5 +38 Rota Grids, I realise this is pretty crazy fitment, I will probably run maybe 225's or something on them with a bit of stretch. I was wondering though, will I have any issues putting them straight on with no fender work if the car is at stock height? I will definitely be looking at coils soon after, and some pulling and ither fender work in the future, just wondering if they will go on for the time being if the car hasnt been lowered yet. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys new to wheels and correct fitting for libs but eyeing off a set of rota grids off eBay that are 18x9.5 with +35 offset will these scrub on stock bilstein suspension until I get enough cash for coilovers? Will get smallest size tyres as well to ensure to rub. Or would enkei rpf1 17x8 fit better without issues.

If you're car is lowered you'll have no chance with the grids. 100%chance of rubbing. You're better off waiting till you get coilovers or get the enkeis. Even with coilovers you'll need to roll and probably pull/flare the guards out a little and run at least -2 camber all round depending how much you can flare the guards.

So they will fit without being lowered and on the stock bilsteins?

otherwise i guess forget that idea, will go for something more manageable like the enkeis

Without being lowered, it will be so mexican it will just look bad.
IF you dont have coilovers / camber kits then stick with the RPF1s

I have 17x7 +42 with 5 mm spacers... no rubbing or anything

Agreed...it will look pretty bad and will require a fair bit of work.

What's the offset of the enkei's?

Just get the coilovers first, and then the wheels... or go for the less aggressive 18 x 8.5 +40 odd version of the Grid's? Can get them through a number of vendor's and are usually on special for $999 a set + tyres and delivery!?

The 18 x 9.5 +35/+38 will fit on the lib's(just) but it's not an easy fit, definitely requiring fully rolled guards and most often pulled/pumped as well... Plus lots of negative camber...

right size for 235/45R17. Around $250 a tyre the PS3's were a couple of months ago. You know you want to :wink:
