Looking at getting my Brembos done soon as Mark does a fantastic job by the look of things.

My only concern is how the paint on the calipers stand up to track work with the extra temps in the calipers. I just do sprint events not full on track work but they still get very hot. Has anybody had any trouble with the VHT paint used on the calipers after being used on the track for some time????

They will eventually change colour. I once refinished my WRX 4pot calipers with VHT Red caliper paint and after around 1.5years of sprint events, they started to discolour.

I have also seen factory painted Brembo and AP calipers start to discolour after a lot of abuse..

Thanks for the feed back mate.

The changing colour is ok and I can live with that. I was more concerned about it cracking, seperating or peeling off of the caliper. Did yours just get darker like the Brembo golds do or what??

They can always be repainted again at some point.

Man you are seriously talented with the pro finish you get on these brakes. They are amazing! I have restored a number of brakes and none looked this good :(. I am curious how you get them so clean, they all look new and the seals look new also. Do you recondition them as well?

Slightly OT soz, does anyone know whether Rex/early STI 4 pots will fit the MY07+ libs and if so are they better? I have some on my other wagon and could swap if compatible as they look better.

They look better but don't perform as well as your GTB brakes do. Your stock fronts are 316mm, 4 pot fronts are 294 IIRC.

Cheers mate. :D

All calipers are stripped and sandblasted so are a fresh base for paint. Seals are new if required, if not, theyre removed and cleaned in a parts bath. Any parts that are needed to bring them back to as new are purchased and fitted.

As Sean said, 4 pots are a step backwards from the GT brakes which have more clamping force than the 4 pots.
