I'm in QLD too but that's exactly what the pedders guy was telling me! about reducing travel my maximum one third.. something about 'one third'. so I'm confused as to whether it will be illegal or legal to lower it.. i thought if it really was illegal there'd be less ppl lowering their libertys.
Will the coilovers be illegal too?

I have no idea about the laws apart from has to be higher than 100mm from the lowest point of the car, I know my car does ride on the bump stop sometimes though haha!

Oh I love them hellatones. I'm unsure of the yellow film on fog lights though. They look good on black but maybe not on white.

Go coilovers mate, they are legal and you can go whatever height u want legal or not and you can change it whenever and last but not least it will be cheaper in the end instead of wasting time trying different springs!

Only bad thing is the comfort side of things can go when u have it really low but thats part of the fun

Jack I have got coil overs in and they are legal as long as you are the 100mm off the ground than the Rta and or the cops cant do shit. But if they are wound down below the 100mm and you get defected than its back to std struts to clear the defect unless you got an engineers certificate for the suspension

Height adjustable coilovers are definitely illegal in SA. Damper adjustment is alright though. There should be somewhere you can call to find out for sure if you're worried about it though.

For SA Guys....

http://www.sa.gov.au/subject/Transport%2C+travel+and+motoring/Motoring/Vehicles+and+registration/Vehicle+standards+and+modifications/Suspension+modification

Adjustable coil-over suspension

Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied.

If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to Modify a Motor Vehicle (PDF 96KB) and a report from a chartered professional engineer (PDF 104KB)

The report must specify and include the following points:

the measured suspension travel of both the original equipment manufacturer suspension arrangement and that of the aftermarket replacement
fitment of a rubber bump stop to limit travel to ensure there is clearance between the coils when the suspension is at full bump
incorporate a permanent locking device on the adjustment mechanism to prevent the adjusting of the suspension that results in the vehicle's ride height being less than that of the minimum legal height specified for that vehicle.
On receipt of an acceptable engineering report to Vehicle Standards, a Statement of Requirements will be sent to you detailing the modifications and any applicable conditions. The vehicle will also be required to pass a roadworthiness inspection.

You can always just ring the Rta 132213 in Nsw between hours of 9 and 5 an they will be able to tell you straight out.
