Never had ku39s, but I've had ku31s (not sure how different they are?). Much much better than the kumho 31s - the re002s are quieter, grippier in all conditions (I used to spin all 4 wheels on the 31s hitting boost in the wet, and IMO it was too easy to activate ABS on them dry or wet).
I was originally going to but Michelin ps3, but MSR strongly advised to get the Bridgestones. Trutrack, the local suspension gurus suggested the same thing, for different reasons.
