That page does - the site itself belongs to Pirelli, and will only have content that shows Pirelli in a good light.

Regarding St George tyres, they're well known (along with Tempe Tyres) for some particular practices that result in many places refuse to price match them. I know I wouldn't buy tyres from them.

Yes I wouldn't buy from them either, but I find that kmart tyres will happy match them, Bob Jane t-mart will not.

That page does - the site itself belongs to Pirelli, and will only have content that shows Pirelli in a good light.

But interestingly enough, the Conti looks to be the "best" tyre in those tests. The Pirelli is probably 2nd.

So nice work by Pirelli to give free advertising for Conti...

Low road noise
Asymmetrical tread pattern for cross rotation purposes.
Decent grip in wet and dry (doesnt have to be top of the range)
Rim protector (not mandatory but preferable)
Cost about $200-220 each fitted and balanced.
225 or 235/40/18 size

Im not worried about internet pricing as I find once you add up your time and getting them fitted, you wont save all that much. Plus I dont have a lot of time to muck around.

Can anyone recommend something here based on experience?

Really happy with mine. Got them in 235/18 for around $200 a piece (after the $100 cash back deal) from bob Janes.

The 235 offers a nice bit of rim protection on my 8inch rim. Fantastic in the dry, good in the wet once warm. Very quiet. Nice firm sidewall, especially since the 40 isnt the best size for hard cornering. Pleasure to drive on

Never had ku39s, but I've had ku31s (not sure how different they are?). Much much better than the kumho 31s - the re002s are quieter, grippier in all conditions (I used to spin all 4 wheels on the 31s hitting boost in the wet, and IMO it was too easy to activate ABS on them dry or wet).

I was originally going to but Michelin ps3, but MSR strongly advised to get the Bridgestones. Trutrack, the local suspension gurus suggested the same thing, for different reasons.

As long as I get the correct offset wheels I should be fine with a 235 I reckon. Been looking at http://www.rotawheels.com.au/wheels/rota-pwr-fa in the hyper black. 18x8.5 +44. I really want to ensure they clear though.

As I've noted, I've got the Sumitomo HTR Z3 on my car, and I'm happy with them thus far (~5,000kms).
