I believe that anything can be broken, I work with firemen who can break stainless steel ball-bearings
and anything that's mass produced will have a failure rate.

The product is cheaper, so more people buy them, so you hear of more failures.

If something being overly expensive and a quality product will prevent it failing,
why did one of my RE050A's snap a belt in the sidewall? At $500 a tyre.
Compared with the $190 for the Hankooks I replaced them with, should I expect 2.6 times more failures with them under the same conditions?

I fail to believe if a company such as rota are producing wheels for such large vehicle manufacturers that there website would be so shit lol. Why wouldn't there wheels be so "famous" such as other Japanese companies and why wouldn’t these vehicle manufacturers be raving on about them?

The finish of the rota wheel from production line and what I see on a Mercedes is completely different.

We could on go on forever on this issue and i really cbf lol. But yea each to their own.

I'd hope you would not be swayed. Nothing should change your opinion unless it is backed up to your satisfaction.

The simple fact of the matter is that no one is right or wrong here. You should buy what suits your taste, budget and intended purpose, and if it doesn't work for whatever reason, learn from it and buy something else.

I'd have a pretty low opinion of someone if they derided you for simply having imitation rims, likewise no one should be derided for spending oodles of money on the genuine articles either. Whether you go for form over function or vice-versa, you should always go with what makes YOU happy. Who cares what anyone else thinks?

If I had my way, chrome rims and spinners would have been outlawed years ago...

Everyones got an opinion and their opinion is most of the time based on what they can afford.

I wont buy Rota's as I dont agree with them ripping off popular JDM wheels to purely appeal to people who cant afford the real thing.

Id rather save for the real thing, but that comes from my anal attention to detail and liking to do things properly.

I not long ago purchased 18 x 8.5 +38 WORK CR Kai's in VGC with tyres for someone here for $1400 landed in AUS. Why would you buy Rotas over that?
