Anyone know where I can get a 24mm rear sb? Can only find 20mm rears and 22mm fronts on the whiteline.com.au site.

Haven't seen any that big, though if you do find some post up the details here. For such a big bar, the heavy duty swaybar mount brackets and heavy duty endlinks are mandatory unless you wanna break shit.

Hi,

I am reviving an old thread instead of starting a new one.

I have already got a 21mm Cusco rear and was thinking of doing the front as well. Just wanting to hear peoples opinion on fitting a front sway bar.

Do it, and if your budget will allow, try and get the front and rear lower braces, Phat can help you source them, of course

I fitted both front and rear bracing and sway bars all at the same time, the car felt a lot more sure footed even with the crap sti pinks fitted.

Hey Tony,

Yeah I remember you had all the Cusco stuff done. Just trying to work out if an upgraded front will make a noticeable difference to the standard front sway.

Probably won't do the braces at this stage. I did contemplate it.

you want a 24mm adjustable. Can be got from Selby direct in NSW. They make most of the swaybars or whiteline. ;) part for the GenIII is SB24=SR12CA. I am running the stock 20mm on the front and at this stage will not be upgrading to a bigger. For the recent track day i did at Winton in Vic, i actually dissconnected the front swaybar to get better turn-in. Have been driving on the road like that ever since. But it will be re-connected once i re-jig the front end to my liking.

If you fit a rear bar, make sure you fit the H/D sway bar mounts (I did the AVOs).

Cheaper than snapping body parts.

I found the front bar did not make as big of a difference as the rear only, BUT it certainly balances the car having both. Mine are setup with Bilsteins and the bars are both set to hard

Nice mix for my driving style

fitting a bigger front swaybar make the nose flatter through the corners. No shit you say. But you are actually making the car understeer more and slower throught the corners. You need to make the rear significatly bigger or you will be going no where in a hurry, or around a corner.

Swaybar mount might help maintaining swaybar regidity, maybe.
But i have been running a 24mm rear, and i track my wagon.. no brakages.

Agreed. I have kept the stock 20mm front bar for the same reason whilst running 20mm rear bar set on hard (which is equiv to about a 21mm bar). It gives good turn in and keeps the back lively and the car can be throttle steered easily. Haven't found a want or need to upgrade the front to a 22mm which would change that balance.
