I was reading about Hawk pads on LegacyGT and the conclusion is that the Ceramics last a long time however due to their extremely low dusting and low wear, the pad feel isn't as good as their HPS pads.

Not surprisingly the HPS are the next pad up on their product line and a lot of the guys who drive hard on the street and do motorkhana give good ratings for these. Next up again is the HP Plus however these aren't recommended for street use due to dusting and noise.

So basically when my brakes are up for renewal I will need to pick between the HPS and the Ceramics, paired with DBA4000. The stock pads have a pretty dead pedal feel as it is...

How did the feel of yours compare to stock Smythie?

when cold they have a lot less bite than the stockers. After a couple of applications (just driving around a suburban street is enough - no need to practice an emergency stop) they warm up enough that the bite improves markedly. I'd still say the bite is less than stock even when warm. You get used to it after a while and it probably wouldn't be noticeable if you don't change cars

Otherwise, the feel is great IMO. The pedal softness (for want of a better term) doesn't change but there is plenty of power, it is very easy to modulate and they just don't seem to give up.

They do dust though when you are right up them for the rent.
