On my 03 XS Forester I changed the Rear pads at 124,969kms and the Front pads at 138,080kms with minimal wear on the rotors as they didn't need machining.
The replacement pads are OEM same as the originals.

I use the gears to slow down and the brakes 3 x times with the 3rd time being the final stop at lights etc.

60,000kms, 4 trackday's & a few spirited drives.

On my 2nd set of DS2500 FRT pads.

Still on original OE rotors, but they are at the end of their life.

There seems to be a lot of variations of life in both. Obviously depends on driving style, but I would have thought at least 50K for both, but some are replacing rotors and discs after 30?? Must be hard on brakes, unless they suffered the same shudder that I've now got and changed them as opposed to replaced them.

Dixcel type M's are the goods :D tried & tested on numerous members rides :D

Hawks are also good, but have heard they take a little bit to warm up etc.

PM our resident Rexy Boy, he has a set of Hawks pads on his car currently :)

Me too. It was noticeable coming off the OEM pads (which had good initial bite) but I hardly notice it now after 3 months - just feels like a good pad. Could also be everything finally bedding in too. Still, it was only noticeable after half an hour or so on the highway without touching the brakes or first thing in the morning and only when you were using small pressure on the pedal. Once you had a stop in them (from about 30 or 40 at normal pressure is fine) they were up to temperature.
