Having said that a side project planned for this year is to work with Shockworks on the production of damper inserts for stock BP/BL Bilsteins ;)

I understand you are a full advocate of Shockworks and I am not here to discredit this Ben. Im looking for a 'solution' to what I have rather than what I could have. It would be nice to fork over 2k for some new coil overs but some of us are trying to find a middle ground $$$ wise as well. My driving doesnt consist of track ventures or heavy duty hill climbs. Im just looking for a recommended setting for what I currently have for now. I don't mean any offence.
Cheers
Shav

No offence taken :)
I've seen many spend close to Shockworks money on sorted middle ground solutions...
Coyote, 3rbspec with recoed billies, etc, anyone with decent coilovers braces and sways.

If I was sticking with stock style struts it would be something like:
Billies with repacked grease & nipples, CS Marche caster tops (or new stockers), swift springs, caster offset LCA bushes (or diy urethane filled stockers) and avo rear swaybar mounts: all on the stock sways. Fine tune the rake with saggy butt spacers...

Then later get the bilstein dampers rebuilt/upgraded by eg Shockworks, fulcrum etc...
Or look at kyb agx etc...

But it would still pale in comparison when I needed it most :)

Ben, the inserts sound like a good idea especially if matched with some properly rated springs. That would give people like Shav that middle ground set-up they are looking for in specifically designed one stop package.

Shav, like you I don't need to go with coilovers and tones of adjustment as I'm not looking for a race car. All I need is a little lower, a comfortable and compliment ride, and a little more directness in the handling. This can be achieved with good set of springs, a few bushes, and a proper alignment. Sounds like you are on your way with what you have and yeah I'd definitely have your Whiteline bars set soft to start. If you find the new springs a little harsh switch back to the stock bars before ditching the springs and see how that works.

Ben, it's great that you do a lot of reading and research on suspension and that your loving your shockworx coilovers, but your starting to sound like a douche. Here' s an idea, why don't you do some real world driver training and or track work.
At the end of the day, you may have awesome suspension but if you don't know how to control your car during emergency situations, it ain't going to stop your car getting out of control, hence why ESP/ESC was developed.

Thanks Adrian, I think you nailed it for me. Eventually I will be requiring new shocks & am looking at the options out there now. Coilovers while superior in a lot of ways are still not legal in my state in the event of an insurance claim. Cops here are heavy on stuff like that. I realize I'd have to be a douche and lower the crap out of it and act like a clown on the roads to be caught, but since the car is also a car I use for work, I need to set a limit.

Anyway, I'll look at resetting my bars to soft all round once the springs are fitted, see how that goes. Failing that, I'll stick the stock rear sway in and test the waters there. I find though that I tend to adapt my driving to suit the cars character anyway and if I can find a happy medium I'll be happy.
Cheers
