HELP!! Does anyone has 19" on their 3.0R-B?

Postby suh4 » Sun Jun 27, 2010 10:00 pm

Please let me know your rim size inc. width, tyre size, offset, any change to brake/suspension/guards? and it has to be a 3.0R-B not other spec Libertys, coz the original wheel is 215/45R18 instead of other Liberty's 215/45R17.

I want to upgrade to an 19*8.5, ET45, 235/45R19, not sure if it will scratch the guards, specially when making steering turn to dead lock. The tyre shop said it won't fit with 235, only 225 can do, but on my fitment guide said it can do 235...... confusing and that tyre shop is in another state just don't want to make trouble when I get the wheels. Many thanks guys.

I was going to help out but then I realised I don't have a 3.0R-B. Btw, except for the Bilsteins, the 3.0R-B is running the exact same suspension setup as the GT and the 2.5i, and the exact same suspension as the GT-B.

To the OP, I'm not sure why the type of suspension would matter, as the wheel would still move through the same range of motion and if it rubs with one type of suspension it would rub with another type (given the same wheel and tyre combination).

yer but Jim, if one car has been lowered compared to another one that hasnt then rubbing may or may not occur wouldnt it.?

If we're talking about when the car is stationary then yes there is a difference. But in normal driving the suspension will move through its full range of motion. The only difference there is that a lowered car may rub more often compared to one that is not lowered.

thats why i think he asked mate about suspension mods so he could compare the differences between stock and modified

If you can wait for a couple of weeks I could tell you that question about 19's on stock, but I will be changing my suspension soon after the 19's go on to Tein Flex.

You have to take into account the camber settings as well as the height level.

If you don't have any rub issues when at standard height and you lower the car without changing the camber you probably shouldnt have any rub issues.

If you lower the car and adjust the camber to be more neutral then you may run into rubbing issues.

235/40 on an 8.5 45 offset will be very close to the guard if not rubbing on a lowered car with neutral camber but will probably be okay on standard suspension.
