Converted to Brembo

Postby pplwu » Wed Jul 15, 2009 5:58 pm

I have Brembo for a while now but now it just occured to me that hey my spare doens't clear brembos (Spec B 3.0), and I only bought 4 replacement rims. What do you guys do? Do you have a spare that will clear Brembos in case of emergency?

There's been a bit of talk about this lately.

I've been looking into options i.e. buy STi wheel, space saver, etc. But if you don't wanna spend any dough, then rear is OK, but front will require jacking entire side of car up and swap back to front with good wheel and then drop old std spare onto rear.

Cheers

mmmm..... jacking the whole car up?! in the middle of the road (most likely this is whats gonna happen). So I gathered from previous thread that space saver clears brembo front - how much they worth each?

Adhar I am thikning of getting a spacesaver if you are still interested to buy my MINT - NEW singe spec B spare

What you want is the STi space saver :)

I may have another one soonish.... will post up if I do.

EDIT: Not the current STi but the previous model.

I wouldn't trust those space savers as far as I could throw one especially if you have 19"or 20" rims.

Figured I'd do the whole side change if it came down to it... and thats only required if one of the fronts goes...

I may be wrong here, but I think Patrick (pplwu) has the pre-facelift Spec B rim, not the facelift rim.

get a can of emergency puncture stuff..

i know most AMG Mercs carry no spare just a can of the stuff that inflates a dead tyre providing its not shredded.

youwould think for an expensive car they would have a spare.

i think its called Zoosh or something similiar.

try a big tyre outlet place for further info

Until I find a spare to fit at a reasonable price that's what I am going to be doing as well.

Oh ok, i've got the 18 inch 10 spoke post-facelift spec B's on my car (Sentinal's old wheels). If one of those wheels happened to bounce along i'd snap it up!
