Brembo Brakes Question

Postby WhiteGTB » Wed Dec 10, 2008 10:01 am

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if the WRX STi Brembo's are the same as size and spec as the ones on the Liberty STi's?

I'm assuming that Subaru would use the same caliper size and parts across all theirs cars for this kind of brake set up?

I dont think they fit Trieu.

From memory something to do with the diameter rotors or something close to that.

I think the rear discs on the WRX's have the 190mm handbrake shoe and the Libs need the 170mm. You can get discs to suit or there are ways of converting to fit (apparently).

Thanks OzSTi, contacted Tony to talk options.

Danny, just in case you wanted to know the standard B Spec rims don't clear Brembos.

It says you need minimum 18x7.5" to clear.. what offset though?

Actually 17x7.5. My understanding is that it is inner spoke design and certainly the +55 offset of the STi wheel suits.

I should also say I got my Brembos from the King of Parts in the US but I had also spoke to Tony at vsport who was most helpful. If the KoP hadn't made a mistake in shipping in my favour and then, to their credit, stuck by it, I would have gone with vsport.

KoP is now called 5 star performance:

You could get away with a +45mm offset, but it depends on the spoke design.

I was able to fit both the Advanti Blade wheels and the HP Design Onyx wheels on my car and they cleared the Brembo's (just barely).

yes but you need rotors with a 170mm dia handbrake and do a little grinding to get the bolt for the dogbone adapter

just do the front
