ADVAN RS or ULTREX RS

Postby fuct » Tue Oct 09, 2012 5:52 pm

Hey guys! after hours and hours days and days of looking up rims I have narrowed down my search to the following 2 listed below for my black 05 3.0r lib.

ULTREX RS FLAT BLACK 18 X 8 (+42 offset) 100 ($892 no tires)
ADVAN RS Styling 18" 5x100 (+45 offset) Glossy Black ($830 no tires)

Now I have seen pictures of the ULTREX rims on a lib but have not seen any of the RS gloss black on any car, if any one has a pics could you please show me :)
and would be great to hear your feedback on the rims :)

I have a feeling you'll find the Advan rs are $830 each, whereas the ultrex's are a set of 4 for $892?

Styling being the keyword. Just fake Advans, probably cheaper quality than the Rotas G-Forces

I prefer the Advan RS style ones as the 10 holes in the centre looks a bit funny to me.

Looks like they say ADV/\N instead of ADVAN too :P

You are indeed correct, just found them on eBay. I really wouldn't trust their quality, so would go with the ultrex's from a safety standpoint

Yeah, eBay is full of copy "styling" wheels now.

Even using the name of the real company is so dodgy.

I would never buy the "styling" rims on principle (I know the other ones are still copies but they aren't as deceptive).
How do they not get sued for having advan written on them?

Go the ultrex.

Plus I'd be embarrassed to have rims that have advan written on them that aren't advans.

For a second I thought you found advans for that price and I was going to find them and beat you to buying them

Like the "Ravs Vork" te37 style wheels. They have the stickers on the spokes and everything in the same font as the "Rays Volk" legitimate wheels.

Thanks 4 your input guys! I think I will stay away from the fake advans, it's just to risky as I might drive over a pot hole one day and it's all over. :bomb:
will go with the Ultrex
:)

Perhaps look at the Rota G-Force if you like that style. A copy too, but so many people run them without issue, safe to say they'd be a lot safer than those copies.

No, these rims are that price for 4.

Also, I'd say rota and ultrex would be pretty much on par with each other.

They are both made in Taiwan ;)

Just like the BC's and KiDo coilovers, i wouldnt be surprised if they came from the same factory

Im going to recommend the ultrex's because im running them with no issues* what so ever
